House Of The Dead 2 Review: A B-Movie Masterpiece

In an era where survival horror games are all about complex storytelling and deep character development, it's refreshing to step back into simpler times with House of the Moonlight (not actually called that) or more accurately, House of the Dead 2. This over-the-top shooter is a loving tribute to old-school zombie flicks like Return of the Living Dead II.

The game takes place on a cruise ship where our protagonists must fight their way through hordes of undead while trying away from an even bigger threat: another dimension full of more zombies! You'll encounter everything from chainsaw-wielding gals in bikinis wielding baseball bats to giant mutated spiders, all hell-bent on making sure your journey ends very badly indeed!

Gameplay wise? Expect plenty action packed action as you blast through hordes upon hordes with dual pistols or even switch up the pace by using shotguns and machine guns. There's also some fun rail shooter sections thrown in there too where things really do get intense.

Graphics-wise, well let’s just say this isn't going to win any awards anytime soon but hey who cares? It looks like something straight outta an old Dreamcast game anyway! Sound effects are similarly forgettable however they fit perfectly into the overall feel of cheapness that permeates every aspect herefrom character models right down until you finally manage kill off all those pesky undead buggers!

Overall though House Of The Dead 2 is still plenty fun for anyone looking for a good old-fashioned blast-a-thon without worrying too much about story or depth. It may not hold up graphically compared to modern standards but it makes up for that with sheer campy charm alone making it well worth playing through at least once if only just see how badly they botched everything else.
